Meet God Hound

Welcome to God Hound.  I'm not God Hound.  God is.

My name is John Lynch.  I'm an 85 years old Lutheran Pastor.  Before God chased me into the Lutheran church, he nipped at my heels until I became a Catholic priest.  I served as a parish priest or professor in three countries -- the USA, Canada and France.  In those years, God pushed me to earn more degrees than a thermometer and to learn a smattering of Hebrew and Greek as well.  Yes, I learned  a lot in the academic world. I learned even more on the streets of Monmartre  (in Paris), Toronto, and Washington,D.C.

Introduction

Why God Hound

This blog is about how God has chased me with his " goodness and mercy all the days of my life."  The image comes from the 23rd Psalm and Francis Thompson's poem, "The Hound of Heaven."  "I fled him down the nights and down the days.  I fled him down the labyrinth ways of mine own Heart."  When God chases us, he leads us  to people he has chosen to shape and form our lives.
